Important Forms & Helpful Links
This page contains all of our important forms and links. If you are interested in adopting, fostering, or surrendering a pet, please complete the appropriate form and a volunteer will be in touch with you.
We do our best to respond within a couple of days of receiving your application. Please keep in mind that we are a fully volunteer-based rescue, and life can sometimes slow things down. If you’re concerned that you haven’t heard back from us, feel free to send us an email as a gentle reminder. We truly try not to miss anyone—but busy rescue life means the occasional mistake can happen.
Also linked here is our Amazon Wishlist if you’d ever like to help us spoil the animals in our care. Many of the items on this list are things we would love to provide but can’t always afford on our own. Our most needed items often include toys, enrichment puzzles, special diets, and general supplies for the furbabies in care.
If you follow us on Facebook, we may occasionally post requests for specific items we’re in need of—but truly, anything is always appreciated and makes a difference. 💛
Adoption Application
This is the most important step in our adoption process and helps us determine the best possible match for both you and the animal in our care. We are open to all kinds of homes and lifestyles, and our goal is always to pair each animal with the home where they will thrive.
All sections of the application must be completed. If there is a section you are unable to complete, please clearly explain why in the appropriate area. Applications with missing sections and no explanation will be automatically denied. If an explanation is provided, the adoption coordinator will review your application and decide whether it can move forward.
We appreciate your honesty and the time you take to complete this form—every detail helps us make thoughtful, responsible placement decisions.

Foster Application
Fostering With Little Bit of Luck Rescue
Fostering is simple, supportive, and incredibly rewarding. As a foster, you provide the home, love, daily care, and basic training for an animal in our care—whether a cat or a dog. We work closely with you every step of the way.
What You Provide
-
A safe, loving home
-
Daily care and basic training
-
Patience and compassion
-
Photos and updates to help us promote your foster on social media
What We Provide
-
Food and basic supplies (based on donations)
-
Kennels/crates, leashes, collars, bowls
-
Veterinary care and coordination
-
Ongoing support and guidance
*Supplies are provided as donations allow. While extras may be limited, we always ensure the basics are covered. If a specific item could help with training or a particular need, we’ll do our best to provide it or reach out to the community for support (no guarantees on bonus items).
Promotion & Adoption Process
We do not rely heavily on large adoption events, as we find they can be stressful for animals. Instead, we depend on great photos, videos, and regular updates from our fosters to help animals get seen and find the right home.
When an application comes in:
-
We vet the application.
-
You’ll receive the applicant’s info and help with the first meet & greet—either at a neutral location you’re comfortable with or at your home.
-
You’ll let the adopter meet the animal, answer questions, and get a feel for whether it’s a good fit.
-
The adopter then has 24–48 hours to decide if they want to proceed.
-
If they do, we handle the rest—we pick up the animal, complete the in-home meet & greet, and finalize the adoption and contract signing.
Communication & Supplies
We ask for at least one week’s notice if you’re running low on food or supplies so we can restock what’s available.
The Bottom Line
Fostering with us is meant to be low-stress and well-supported. You focus on loving and caring for the animal—we take care of vetting adopters, paperwork, and final placements.
If you have room in your home and heart, fostering truly saves lives.

Owner Surrenders
At Little Bit of Luck Rescue, our first goal is not to remove dogs from their homes—it's to help keep them there whenever possible.
We understand that life can be challenging, and many families reach out because they are struggling with behavior concerns, training challenges, lifestyle changes, or unexpected circumstances. Before considering surrender, we ask owners to work with us to explore solutions that may help their dog remain safely and successfully in the home they already know and love.
We believe that supporting owners, providing education, and addressing the root cause of challenges is one of the most important ways we can help both animals and our community. Rehoming is often far more difficult and stressful than many people realize, particularly for breeds such as Australian Cattle Dogs and Australian Shepherds, which can struggle significantly with repeated transitions and changes in environment.
If you are considering surrendering your dog, we will typically begin by discussing the situation, assessing the concerns, and exploring options that may help set both you and your dog up for success. In many cases, with the right support, guidance, and management strategies, families are able to keep their beloved companions at home.
Of course, we recognize that every situation is unique. There are circumstances where surrender may be the most appropriate option, and we are always willing to listen. If you feel your situation requires special consideration, please don't hesitate to reach out and speak with us.
As a small rescue with very limited space and resources, we cannot accept every surrender request we receive. We focus primarily on Australian Cattle Dogs and Australian Shepherds, as these breeds often have fewer specialized rescue resources available and align with the experience and environment we can provide here on the farm.
Emergency situations and urgent welfare cases will always take priority over owner surrenders. We ask for understanding as we work to make the greatest impact possible during an ongoing animal welfare crisis.
If you are committed to finding the best outcome for your dog and are willing to work together to explore options first, we would be happy to hear from you. Our goal is not simply to take dogs in—it is to help dogs and families succeed, whether that means keeping them together or helping find the right next step.
