2026 Success Stories
2026 was a year of second chances, soft landings, and happy endings we’ll never stop believing in. 💛 Every animal adopted this year came to us with a story—some heavy, some uncertain, all deserving of love. And one by one, they found it. They found that little bit of luck that landed them exactly where they were meant to be: in their perfect, forever homes.
From the shy souls who learned that gentle hands can be trusted, to the bold personalities who finally had space to just be themselves, each adoption reminded us why this work matters so deeply. These animals didn’t just find homes—they found families who saw them, chose them, and committed to loving them for life.

Mayzie
Mayzie’s Happily Ever After 💛
Some stories just feel meant to be — and Mayzie’s is one of them.
When Mayzie first came into care, she was labelled as “anxious.” But as we got to know her, it became clear that wasn’t truly who she was. What looked like anxiety was really a little girl who didn’t feel heard or understood. It wasn’t her fault — it was simply a consequence of circumstance. And once someone took the time to listen, guide, and reassure her, everything changed.
With patience, consistency, and love, Mayzie’s true personality began to shine. Her confidence grew brighter each day. She blossomed into a happy, affectionate, and playful little companion who simply needed the right environment to feel safe and secure.
We are beyond thrilled to share that Mayzie has found her furever happily ever after with a wonderful asset and trusted friend within the rescue community. She now has an incredible home that understands her heart — and as an added bonus, she has another small dog to snuggle up with and play alongside. The companionship, the comfort, the shared zoomies… it’s everything she deserved.
Mayzie received all the love, guidance, and support she needed to set her up for success, and now she gets to carry that confidence into the next chapter of her life.

Beeker
Beakers and Sirius Black found their way into the most amazing home—together, just as it was meant to be. These two barn buddies came to us unsure of the world, unaware of what safety truly looked like, and frightened of nearly everything around them. But through it all, they had each other.
In the end, they landed in a place where they could continue being one another’s emotional support—a quiet, calm environment with people who understand and love them exactly as they are. They have the perfect setup: shelter and safety, with access to the outdoors where they can run, play, and mouse to their hearts’ content all day long.
For barn buddies, they truly hit the jackpot. Knowing they were able to stay together makes this placement extra special. Some of my favorite moments were watching them on camera, playing and interacting throughout the day—moments you’d never see in person because they were simply too afraid of humans. But even then, you could see it: that gentle, playful, loving nature was always there.
Sending Beakers and Sirius Black home together was absolutely the best outcome possible, and I couldn’t be happier for them. 🖤🐈⬛🐈
Serius Black
Serius Black’s journey was a quiet one, filled with watchful eyes and cautious steps. He came to us as a barn buddy who wasn’t sure what to make of the world around him, keeping his distance and observing from the safety of the shadows. Humans were intimidating, and trust didn’t come easily—but that didn’t mean Serius lacked heart.
What Serius did have was a gentle, playful spirit that came out when he thought no one was watching. Through the cameras, we’d catch glimpses of the real him—darting through space, engaging in games with Beaker and the other cats, and showing off a side of himself that fear kept hidden in person. Those moments told us everything we needed to know: Serius was meant for a peaceful, understanding environment where he could simply be.
That’s exactly what he found. Serius Black is now in a calm, quiet home with the perfect balance of safety and freedom—shelter and love paired with outdoor access where he can run, explore, and mouse to his heart’s content. He’s surrounded by people who respect his boundaries and value him for who he is, not who they want him to be.
For a barn buddy like Serius, this is the dream. Watching him step into a life that suits him so perfectly reminds us why patience and compassion matter so much. Sirius Black didn’t just find a home—he found peace. ✨🖤
Diesel
Diesel was the sweetest little love bug to ever come through our doors. He came to us from an incredibly loving family who were absolutely heartbroken to say goodbye, but ultimately made the selfless decision to do what was best for him when his needs could no longer be met.
From there, Diesel found his perfect match — a phenomenal home with another animal companion, an older dog who fit him like a puzzle piece. The resemblance was uncanny, almost like fate had a hand in it, right down to the shorter hair.
Now Diesel has a new mom who is completely devoted to him and a cozy, quaint little town to call home. Every piece fell into place, and it truly was a match made in heaven. Stories like Diesel’s are exactly why we do what we do. 💛
Hawk
Hawk’s Happy Ending
Hawk has officially landed the perfect forever home. He’s joining a loving family with another cat, and even more special, they’re close family friends of the amazing people who helped save the Five Little Birds. We couldn’t have dreamed up a better place for him.
His new family understands that Hawk came into care with some medical needs and is still healing, and they’ve opened their hearts (and adjusted their lives) to make sure he has everything he needs to thrive. That kind of compassion tells us everything we need to know—he’s truly in the best hands.
This little bird will never again know uncertainty. Hawk now knows love, kindness, a full belly, and the comfort of a safe home. He will never worry about tomorrow, and he will never be alone again. We are beyond happy to celebrate yet another beautiful success story—Hawk is home, forever. 🐾💛
Spook
From a frightened little kitten to a confident, cherished companion — Spook’s journey has been nothing short of heartwarming.
When Spook first arrived into our care, he was a timid, unsure little soul. The world felt big and overwhelming, and he preferred to watch it from a safe distance. But with time, patience, and gentle reassurance, he began to blossom. Day by day, his brave little personality started to shine through. The once-scared kitten grew into an affectionate, curious, and truly amazing cat.
Today, we are overjoyed to celebrate Spook’s adoption into a beautiful family with three young girls who are beyond excited to love and spoil him for all his days. He now has built-in best friends, endless cuddles, and a home filled with laughter — exactly what every kitten deserves.

Boo’s Happily Ever After 🐾
After waiting far too long for the family he deserved, sweet Boo has finally found his forever home—and it could not be more perfect. He now has an amazing family to call his own, along with a dog and cat sibling to show him just how wonderful life can be. Together, they’ll teach him all about soaking up every moment, from treats and playtime to endless affection and cozy naps.
Watching Boo’s journey has been something truly special. The kitten who once waited patiently for his chance has blossomed into a confident, hilarious, and lovable little character. His funny personality shines brighter every day, and seeing him grow into the happy, secure boy he was always meant to be has brought so much joy.

Whisper has found an incredible forever home on a farm with a loving older sister and the most thoughtful, caring family. This wonderful elderly couple took their time to ensure the transition would be the right fit for everyone involved. Their patience, kindness, and dedication have already made a world of difference.
In such a short time, Whisper has transformed before our eyes. Her growing confidence, comfort, and happiness make it clear that she is exactly where she belongs. Watching her settle in so naturally reminds us how life-changing the right home can be.

Sparrow
Sparrow’s Journey: A Little Cat with a Big Heart
Some animals leave a mark on your heart long before they find their forever home, and Sparrow is one of those special cats.
Sparrow was part of our world for nearly six months. During that time, we watched her show just how sweet, loving, and resilient she truly is. While we hoped we would be able to see her through every step of her journey, including the surgery she desperately needed, we weren’t able to provide the leg amputation she required.
Thankfully, Sparrow’s story didn’t end there.
She was transferred to Edmonton Cold Weather Animal Rescue, where they were able to give her the medical care and support she needed, including her successful leg amputation. We are so grateful that she found her way into their care and that she now has the opportunity to continue healing, thriving, and waiting for the family she deserves.
Although Sparrow may not have been adopted through us, she was absolutely a part of our rescue family. Nearly six months of love, care, and memories mean she will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we believe she deserves to be celebrated here.

Falcon
Remembering Falcon
Some stories are not the endings we wish we could share, but every life deserves to be remembered.
Falcon was one of five tiny kittens who came into our care after being abandoned on a cold winter road, left with no hope in sight. He arrived needing love, patience, and someone to show him that he mattered.
From the moment he entered our care, Falcon was surrounded by compassion. He was cared for, protected, and loved unconditionally. Over the following six months, he grew from a frightened little bird into a sweet, affectionate cat who knew what it meant to be safe.
Falcon was finally ready for the next chapter of his life. He had a family waiting for him and was so close to the forever home he deserved. Unfortunately, before he could begin that new journey, he slipped away from home and tragically passed away.
Although this is not the success story we hoped to share, Falcon’s story is still one of love and hope.
Because Falcon was not left behind on that winter road. He was found. He was given a chance. He experienced kindness, comfort, and a place where he belonged.
For six beautiful months, Falcon was surrounded by people who loved him. He knew warmth. He knew safety. He knew he mattered.
His time with us was far too short, but his impact will last forever.
Fly high, little bird. You were loved. You were cared for. You were cherished. And you will never be forgotten.
Bandit's Happy Ever After
Some dogs find their families through adoption events, social media, or chance encounters. Bandit's story unfolded in a way none of us could have predicted, proving that sometimes the perfect match happens when you least expect it.
From the moment Bandit came into our care, he stole hearts with his larger-than-life personality. He was affectionate, incredibly loyal, endlessly entertaining, and never shy about letting everyone know exactly what he wanted. He had a stubborn streak a mile wide, a heart full of love, and enough charisma to make everyone around him smile. Bandit wasn't just another dog in our rescue; he became part of our family.
While in our care, Bandit formed an unmistakable bond with my ex husband who had been spending time with him more and more after the loss of his dog a few years ago. Their connection grew naturally, built on trust, companionship, and mutual respect. As life took its own unexpected turns, it became clear that they belonged together.
Bandit has been adopted into a home where he will be the only dog, exactly what he needed to truly thrive. He will have the one-on-one attention, consistency, and companionship he has always craved. His new dad understands him, appreciates his wonderfully stubborn personality, and loves him for exactly who he is. In many ways, they're perfectly matched, each just determined enough to keep the other on their toes.
Although saying goodbye is never easy, especially to a dog who became such an important part of our lives, our hearts are full knowing that Bandit is exactly where he belongs. We will miss his goofy antics, his unwavering loyalty, and the joy he brought to everyone he met, but there is no greater reward than seeing him start this next chapter. Even though I contemplated keeping him I knew when my husband left Bandit was meant to go with him. It doesn't mean I won't get to see him again just that he wont be here causing havoc every day lol.
Bandit's future is going to be filled with love, adventures, quiet moments with his favorite person, and the security of knowing he is finally home. He has found someone who will cherish him every single day, and that's everything we could have ever hoped for.
Congratulations, Bandit. Thank you for letting us be part of your journey. We know your best days are still ahead of you, and we can't wait to hear about all of the adventures that await you.
